The Adventures of Sagittarius continue as the Moon continues her third day in the sign.   Although most of us will be feeling carefree and joyous, our friends that are in relationships may begin to feel the pinch with the Moon closing in on its final aspect to retrograde Venus.  Sagittarius would prefer not to deal with such words as structure, commitment, and responsibility.  After all, its ruler Jupiter or Zeus in mythology was never known to keep his zipper up, therefore the insecure square between Moon and Venus propel people quickly to the real world as relationship tensions begin to rise.

The only planetary aspect (not including lunar aspects) of the day is the minor semisextile between the Sun and Uranus.  Minor issues surrounding finances could arise today as circumstances percolate to the surface.  In addition, your vision to create something new or give birth to a new idea or revelation could be equally rewarding.  With all Uranian aspects expect the unexpected is the order of the day.

Prepare yourself for a week of nonstop action, as the energy begins with a bang, and does not slow down until the weekend.  The Moon begins in energetic, enthusiastic, and adventurous Sagittarius.   We may find ourselves focused on expanding our awareness, and looking for new opportunities.  Try to keep away from doing anything restrictive or routine, so that you can keep your frustrations down to a minimum.

All the fun and energy of the day will draw to an end, as the Moon will square Saturn around 9:04 pm.   This combination can make us feel quite restrictive and unable to express our feelings.   This aspect can make us feel quite anxious, overwhelmed, and annoyed.   We may want to spend the evening hours alone, enjoying simplicity, and taking care of ourselves.   Most often, despite our urge towards excitement and adventure, the slow and steady road is often the easiest to travel.

I never know how a particular energy is going to manifest.  Sure, I know the keywords, sign and planetary meanings, and aspect configurations, but often how the energy manifests in our daily life is a mystery.   The Moon in Sagittarius is quite exciting, dramatic, and over the top, but did it have to manifest as a “Nancy Drew Murder Mystery?”

Being the “reflective” person that I am, I decided this evening (after all the noise of the day had quieted down, and we can tap into our greatest spiritual thoughts and channels) to turn inward and hope to gleam some wisdom (another Sagittarian keyword) and I realized that dramatic circumstances are often the motivator towards us taking action against complacency.   Drama fuels us and provides enormous energy to get things done!  After all, Jupiter the ruler of Sagittarius hurled quite the dramatic proclamations, which created the energy for all those mythic figures to take on the quest of the “Heroes Journey.”

Although it is popular, en vogue, and politically correct for us to look at life and desire a “drama free” zone or as Mary J. Blidge so declared, “No More Drama,” I believe that we should use the moments where drama occurs in our lives to ask ourselves what we need to change?  We are approaching the final quarter phase of the New Moon in Pisces conjunction which occurred on February 24, 2009.  Astrology, being the instructive language that it is propels us to resolve loose ends and provides with the energy to move forward.   We enter a new astrological New Year in a few days, and are you prepared to take up your Heroic Journey?

So, the inner lesson we can learn is that avoiding drama might be akin to sticking your head in the sand.   Often avoiding it is the wrong answer!   Ignoring it may prevent us from learning the lessons in life that we need to learn, and preventing us from being the person we were meant to be.  So, the next time the Moon moves into Sagittarius, scream, “YES DRAMA,” and open yourself to the change it will create if you are heroic enough to take up the journey.
