The 12 Days of Yule: Day 9 — Receiving Blessings!

We are heading into the homestretch of the 12 Days of Yule! I cannot believe how fast this has gone; it seems like only yesterday that I wrote my first post.  Over the past 2 days we have focused on blessings – how we can count our blessings and how we can be a blessing to others.  Today, we will discuss how we can receive blessings.

I must admit that this is extremely difficult.   Many people do not like to feel obligated to others, and as such do not receive many of the blessings that the light bestows upon them.   It brings up tons of issues; especially our questioning the motives of other people.   In some cases, motivations need to be questioned.  However, in other cases we are preventing good intentioned people from being a blessing to us.

Let’s face it – everyone has motivations no matter how good intentioned they are.   Some of our motivations are unconscious.   They key is developing boundaries that prevents you from feeling uncomfortable with the person attempting to be a blessing.   When all else fails remember that a person’s past behavior is an indication of the way that they will behave in the future.

Activity 9:

Get out your tarot deck.  Shuffle your cards thoroughly and ask yourself the following question, “How do I best receive blessings from others?”   Fan your cards out and draw a card.

Using the Legacy of the Divine Tarot I pulled The Queen of Cups.

If you listen to my radio shows (Psychic Friends Live and Beyond Worlds) you know that this is my least favorite card in the deck.  Although beloved by many tarot readers as the compassionate, loving, nurturing, and caring Queen, I must admit that I question her motivations entirely whenever I am doing a reading that she appears.   However, the cards are directing me to integrate some of her qualities into my personality in order to allow other people to be a blessing to me.  It could reflect my need to be sensitive to other people’s desire to give or to go with the flow rather than intellectually analyzing everything.   After all, part of the circuitry of love is receiving love back from others.

The 12 Days of Yule: Day 6 — Gimme Gumption

Can you believe we are already half way through the 12 Days of Yule?  Time has quickly flown, but the daily insight that many of you are sharing with me has been intense, enlightening, and challenging.   As they say in the fitness industry – no pain, no gain!  That is true with self-discovery as well.

My friend and fellow candle maker Dorothy Morrison has a candle in her Wicked Witch Mojo line called Gimme Gumption.  It is one of my favorite candles out of her line!  Why?  It breaks away the fears that are plaguing us in our lives and provides us with the courage to proceed in the future.   Recently, during my radio show, Dorothy appeared as a guest and told Jacki Smith and I that if you use Gimme Gumption with Tornado Ally and Poof, you can pretty much remove any form of addiction or self-defeating behaviors you may have in your life.

So, what is gumption?  This is what Mr. Webster has to say:

–noun Informal.

1.

initiative; aggressiveness; resourcefulness: With his gumption he’ll make a success of himself.

2.

courage; spunk; guts: It takes gumption to quit a high-paying job.

3.

common sense; shrewdness.

In essence, gumption is that natural resourcefulness that we all have within us.  It is our inner magic!  We can use gumption, whenever all else fails.  All it takes is a little curiousness to figure out exactly where our gumption is.  When we combine honor and integrity with gumption – we have a recipe for success!

Activity 6:

Shuffle your deck thoroughly.   Fan the cards out in front of you and ask the cards, “What is my gumption?”  Draw your card from the deck.

The card I drew is the Ace of Coins

This did not surprise me at all.  The one thing that I know how to do well is make money.  I know business, marketing, and I know how to utilize these things to the best of my ability.   Furthermore, whenever I am funky, blue, down, or going through a crisis the area that I turn to is work.   It is my comfort zone.

Setting Lights with Storm Cestavani

Often, we feel that life has dealt us a bad hand. In many ways, we feel that the deck is stacked against us. Using the power of candle magic we can reverse, change, and even CREATE the life we desire! Candle magic can help you:

Bring love into your life.
Repair a damaged relationship.
Open the door to new opportunities.
Remove negative energies around you.
Bring financial opportunities into your life
Improve your finances.
Expand your sphere of influence
Stop negative influence (including people) around you.

What Is Candle Magic?

Have you ever lit a birthday candle, made a wish, and then blown it out? If you have (and most have), then you have already used candle magic in your life. Likewise, if you have purchased aromatherapy candles from the drug or department store for the purpose of changing your mood or creating a different atmosphere around you – then you have used candle magic.

Whether one is a pagan, Christian, Jew, Muslim, or Buddhist the use of candles as a tool for spiritual meditation is a time honored tradition. In fact, the use of candles for spiritual purposes has been around for thousands of years. According to Jewish mysticism, candles represent the drawing down (from heaven) the light of God, and becomes God’s physical manifestation.

One of the most notable religous faiths for using candles to petition (a fancy word for prayer) the will of God is Catholicism (however many modern protestant and judaic religions also use candles as well). Candles are placed before the statues of Jesus, The Virgin Mary, or Saints to represent a prayer request to grant the petitioner favor or to draw them special attention. The burning of candles is viewed as a continuation of ones prayer, and represents solidarity between the “saint” (or whatever Higher Power you believe in) and the “petitioner”. In essence, it created a “psychic” bond, which granted the “petitioner” what they desired.

In the 21st century the use of candles to affect or influence ones situation, one’s life, one’s mood and the future has reached an unprecedented level. In many cases, candle manufacturers are using politically correct terms such as “aromatherapy” candles or “scented” candles, but the reality is any time that you light a candle to “change” ANY situation you are using sympathetic candle magic.

Why should I use candle magic?

If you knew that you could take something to remove a headache would you do it? Of course, thousands of people a day take aspirin or ibuprofen to relieve headaches created by tension. If you had heartburn or indigestion problems, would you take an antacid? Of course, you would! Thousands of people per day go to pharmacies and drug stores to purchase products to relieve their ailments.

If you could purchase a remedy to resolve the practical problems in your life would you? Of course you would! If we could instantly take something and it would remove all the energies around us that is creating obstacles that prevent us from getting what we want nothing would stop us from doing it. Using candle magic is like creating a personal prescription that removes any blockages, barriers, or obstacles that prevent you from receiving what you desire in your life while rebuilding energies around you that are aimed at achieving your desire. Whether those concerns are about love, romance, money, health, career, or spiritual growth the power of candle magic can and will transform your life.

What is a Candle Magic Practitioner?

Simply put, a candle magic practitioner is an individual who has studied the components of candle magic to the level that they can create a candle(s) that fit your particular needs. This includes knowledge of colors, herbs, essential oils, and the alchemical combination of materials to create a desired result. In addition, a candle magic practitioner is skilled in assisting their clients to create the proper intent and to petition for maximum results.

Storm Cestavani

Storm Cestavani began studying candle magic in 1999 after he was introduced to the art by Linda Salvin. Over the next decade, he aggressively studied why candle magic worked and the components that go into creating candle magic. This included the study of colors, herbs, oils, transporters, combinations, how to construct petitions, and much more. After thousands of hours of study, in 2010 Storm released his first candle line, “Storm Cestavani’s Tarot Magic,” with Coventry Creations, and the tarot line quickly became the largest selling Tarot Magic line in the history of candle magic.
